Show de Bola
Project Show De Bola was started in 2006 by former Brazilian professional soccer player Milton. Through soccer, the project reaches children and young people in the local community, helping keep them away from crime and drugs while encouraging education, responsibility and respect for others.
The children learn that Jesus loves them, that their lives have purpose, and that they can make a positive difference. To be part of a Show De Bola team, they must attend school and keep up with their homework. With school, training several times a week and matches, they have a positive and structured alternative to life on the streets.
Show De Bola is part of Youth With A Mission in Recife, Brazil. What began with 15 boys has grown to more than 100 children and young people. Volunteers also visit the community regularly to support the children and their families.
As the project continues to grow, it depends on financial support to provide opportunities for even more children.
The people behind
Show De Bola is led by Cícero Felix, who grew up on the streets of Recife himself. Today he is married, has a son, studies Sports at university and uses his education directly in the soccer project.
YWAM Denmark’s national leader, Ulrik Corneliussen, has known Cícero for many years through his work at Hope House in Recife.
“Cícero is a young man whose life has been completely transformed by giving God space in his life. What many once saw as hopeless has become a fruitful life that has changed not only Cícero, but also his family. Today he is full of life and gives back to others through the work he does.”

Challenges right now
They are in the project 100 % dependent on gifts and donations in everything they do.The great desire and need right now is a new soccer field, placed in the outskirts of the YWAM base compound.
The field needs to be a certain size in order for them to use it for tournaments, so it will be bigger than their current practice field. The plan is also to build locker rooms and showers. The reality is that they need to use another soccer field a while away when they play matches against other teams. Both the transportation and the rent of the field is expensive.
The whole project will cost around 54,000 Euros.
You can be a part of helping Cícero and the others, both by praying for them and by supporting financially.
